I ordered Teriyaki Lachs bowl for the main course. I liked it but I felt like the lachs fillet was not fully seasoned. The dish had nice amount of fresh vegetables and rice (you could order noodles as well). Their espresso was also good. Their prices are reasonable for the quality.
The food was delicious and the staff very friendly, they gave us information and helped us choose the most delicious dishes. The drinks were refreshing too! I recommend with confidence!
We had the most AMAZING breakfast in this beautiful place, located just above the Leopold Museum. The service was super pleasant. Prices were fair. Everything was super fresh, and the portions were generous.
Less cafe more restaurant. Quality food. Sushi burrito with chicken was nice. Banh mi and the Duck bao buns were average. Nice for a quick bite while out and about.
No trip to the Leopold museum would be complete without a visit to their cafe.
Located on the museums 2nd floor you will be treated to arguably one of the best cafe views in all of Vienna.
Service was quick, efficient and polite
Coffee was very good.
But if I’m being honest - we came and stayed for the view over the central court of the museum quarter. Great for people watching.
€11.40 for 2 coffees and a cola.
Went there for brunch today and ordered the Panda Frühstück which is essentially steamed dumplings. When they brought it to me, I ate a Bärlauchtasche dumpling (shrimp and garlic) and it didn’t taste right… I opened up a second Bärlauchtasche dumpling and saw that it was still raw on the inside so I brought it the waiter’s attention. They brought my entire plate back and had the kitchen remake it… 20 minutes later, they brought me the order again, telling me that they steamed it for longer this second time around. Again, I ate the Bärlauchtasche dumpling, this time a little bit better - at least it’s warm. I decided to try the siu mai dumpling so I cut it in half to look… lo and behold, the inside is not cooked through again and siu mai is made with pork! Again, I sent the plate back… absolutely not happy about this. I didn’t even want them to try making it a third time…. I’ve had enough and was very disappointed that such a cafe can make the same mistake like this (TWICE!).
They didn’t charge me for this but they were not apologetic nor did they offer any explanation as to why it was undercooked. We saw other tables ordering it and even wondered if their dishes are cooked properly.
My stomach has not been feeling good as I did eat 2 dumplings. If you decide to go to this cafe and order this dish, please check to make sure it’s cooked through before eating. Needless to say, I am very hesitant to go back or to even recommend this restaurant to anyone.
The cafe is in 2 parts, it belongs to the museum of the same name and there is a part of the cafe inside the museum which you will require a ticket to visit ( during my visit this part was only serving drinks ) and then in the good weather there is a large outdoor terrace in the museum quarter square next to the museum which is open for anyone to visit.
The menu is not available in English although the server was able to explain the main dishes to me and help me choose.
It is an Asian kitchen and I ordered Bulgogi Huhn, a Korean bowl of rice with chopped chicken thigh and onion with tiny slivers of veg and a fried egg on top ( which I asked to be cooked solid and it was ).
Although the marinade was very tasty and similar to a teriyaki sauce, the chopped meat was very sinewy and the dish really needed some added vegetables.
I didn’t finish it. I really didn’t like the chicken.
Maybe just the wrong choice for me.
I’d order a veggie dish next time.
The server was very helpful.
Summer time so in the ground level outside square, not upstairs. Food quite decent, service same, all good
